B96 and BE licences required to drive a trailer in Annemasse

Apart from the car licence and the motorbike and moped licences, Jules Ferry Auto Moto gives you the opportunity to pass the licences required to drive a vehicle and its trailer.

Get your B96 licence: B licence + 7hour-training

The B96 licence is made up of the B licence and a seven-hour-training about driving trailers.

It is required when the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is greater than 750kg and lower than or equal to 4.25 tonnes. It is also required if the sum of the GVWR of both the towing vehicle and the trailer are greater than 3.5 tonnes and lower or equal to 4.25 tonnes.

This training includes:

  • Admission fees
  • 2 hours of theory
  • 2 hours of driving in a closed area (plateau)
  • 3 hours of driving in traffic
Required documents:
  • 3 identity pictures
  • 1 photocopy of your identity card (both sides)
  • 1 photocopy of your B licence (both sides)
  • 1 proof of residency
  • The down payment.

The BE Licence

Valid only if you successfully passed the traffic regulations exam, the BE licence is required if the GVWR is greater than 750kg and lower or equal to 4.25 tonnes. It’s also required when the sum of the GVWR of both the towing vehicle and the trailer are greater than 3.5 tonnes and lower or equal to 4.25 tonnes.

There are 2 options to get this licence: with or without taking the traffic regulations exam.

Required documents:
  • 3 identity pictures
  • 1 photocopy of your identity card (both sides)
  • 1 photocopy of your B licence
  • 1 certificate of registration for people under the age of 25
  • 1 proof of residency
  • 1 photocopy of your school road safety certificate level 2 (ASSR2)
  • 1 A4 enveloped, stamped for 100grammes
  • The down payment.
